In the 18th century, there lived a man named Thomas Busby in Thirsk, England. He had a partner named Daniel Auty. It is said that both of them used to do illegal work of making fake coins. Daniel was not only a good friend of Thomas, but Thomas was also married to his daughter Elizabeth. After which both became son-in-law and father-in-law.

Later this friendship became even deeper. Every day after work the two would sit together at their favorite bar in Thirsk and have a drink there. Thomas always sat in the same chair in that bar, to which he had a special attachment. If someone sat on that chair, Thomas would start fighting with him. Then by forcefully removing it from there, he himself would sit in it. But this chair was going to kill many people later. Everyone was unaware of this.

The story begins in the year 1702. One day in a bar, Thomas and Daniel had a fight over some matter. The matter reached the fight. Daniel then sat down in his favorite chair to tease Thomas. Seeing this, Thomas became so angry that he killed Daniel.

The police have arrested Thomas on the charge of murder. After which Thomas was sentenced to death for the murder of his father-in-law. The day Thomas was to be hanged. On that day he was asked his last wish. Expressing his last wish before his execution, Thomas said that he wanted to have his last meal sitting in his favorite chair in the bar of Thirsk. Thomas' wish was granted and he was taken to the bar. After eating the food, he got up and started saying 'Whoever dares to sit on my chair will die'. Since then this chair has become really cursed.

The pilot used to die by sitting on the chair

According to Medium.com, during World War II two pilots of the Royal Enforcers came to that pub and sat in that chair. Then as soon as they both came out of the pub, their car met with an accident and both the pilots died. After this whoever sat on this chair died mysteriously. Due to these continuous deaths, the owner of the pub got this chair kept in the warehouse, but the curse of this chair did not leave the people behind.

Once the laborer who came to keep some goods in the godown got tired and sat on that chair. Then an hour later that laborer died in a road accident. After this incident the owner of the pub donated this ill-fated chair to the museum in Thirsk. Since then this chair was kept at a height of 5 feet in that museum. So that no one sits on this chair even by mistake.
